We had fun turning a liquid into a solid...
blowing bubbles on a cold, winter's day!

Mrs Logan did the coolest writing activity today!
We made edible snowflakes!
We wrote a how to story after to explain our process.

We drew and painted castles.

We dressed up as princes and princesses.
We used the pictures to put in our castles.

Some extra dress up time for those that wanted to :).

Happy Weekend!

NEWSLETTER 1-26

Hi! I have to tell you all that you have the sweetest kids. As I’m sure you heard, I
was out three days this week. My entire house, including myself, was sick. It was so
great to come back to such a loving welcome. Your children are precious!
Our matter unit is in full swing. We practiced sorting items into what state of matter
it is. We tried turning a liquid into a solid today by freezing our bubbles. The large
bubble wands work best. They have lots at Dollar Tree if you want to try it at home :)!
We made edible snowflakes out of tortillas...solids are delicious! We also mixed a solid
and liquid and painted castles. We will continue with this unit through February.

WE’RE PUTTING ON A PLAY!

Our class will put on THE RUNAWAY UNICORN on Wednesday, Feb. 14th at 8:30 am in
the cafeteria. We will invite you back to our classroom following the play to share some of
our classroom work. The entire thing will last about 45 minutes. Family and friends are invited.
We are all set on boxes and empty paper rolls. Thank you so much to everyone who sent
some in. We will be painting 3-D castles soon.

VALENTINE’S DAY

We will be making special bags to collect Valentines in. Your child may start bringing in
his/her Valentines to mail in these bags on Monday, Feb. 5th. We will be opening them
at our party that afternoon. I have attached a class list. I will let you know next week with
how you can help with our party.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Grades 3-5 is putting on the musical, Alice in Wonderland on Thursday, Feb. 1st at 1:00
and again at 6:00. It is open to the whole community. Drop in and see one of the
performances! We’re excited to see many of our classmates’ siblings perform!

Happy Weekend!

Hi! Happy National Popcorn Day! We celebrated with our Kindergarten
friends today by doing lots of special activities. We read books with popcorn
in them, played popcorn games, did popcorn science, wrote op words, played
popcorn word games and learned two popcorn poems. The best part is when
PTO showed up with a special popcorn snack for us! It was a fun day. We
continued to work this week with our fairy tale and matter units. Both first and
second graders finished up another unit in math. We wrote back to our California
pen pals. We also continued to practice our play, The Runaway Unicorn.
