First Grade News and PIcs From Week Ending 5/13/22

What a beautiful, but hot week!

We got to eat snack and lunch outside.

We also had popsicles, twice!

We are still learning about the ocean. 

We also learned how to do Word Art with our Peer Helpers.

We welcomed a new classmate!!

Monday, we will draw for Books for Bikes.

Our Spring Concert is June 1st at 6:00 pm.

Step Up Day is Monday, June 13th.

Last student day is Tuesday, June 14th.

First Grade News and Pics Week Ending 5-6-22

What a great week!

We started a new Flex Friday activity. Be sure to ask your child what s/he picked.

I have some pictures below of the first graders that went to read to the cats at

The Bangor Humane Society and the ones that did robotics. We did read lots

of Mother's Day books and did a few writing projects. We celebrated

MAY THE FOURTH be with you! Every subject had something to do

with Star Wars. We worked with recognizing and counting change. 

Any help with this at home would be great. I've taught them to sort

the coins and then count the largest values first. Also, reminding them

that dimes and pennies are like base ten blocks. That helps!
