It's our last Friday! We started the week with two Dragon Days. We had fun learning about bearded dragons and kamado dragons. We made two different kinds of dragons. We wrote about waking up with a dragon in our room. We got dragon stones and dragons. It was fun to be able to communicate with our dragons! We had fire balls and dragon talons for snack. A special thanks to Sophie for donating dragon masks. We figured them out in the guess box!
Thursday afternoon, the UMaine 4-H department came and shared a touch tank with us. The kids were so excited to be able to hold many different sea creatures. They also taught the kids how to measure and band lobsters.
Today we read the book The Memory Jar. We talked about our favorite memories of first grade. We then made memory bracelets. Each color bead represented a first grade memory. Each student picked a word that represented this year. We wrote about all of our memories after.
We said good-bye and thank you to Mrs. Bagley, Henry's Mammie. She has been coming in twice a week to read with individuals and small groups. It's been wonderful having her expertise on hand!!
We have a special activity planned for each day next week. Make sure to still send backpacks. :)
