First Grade News

It's finally coming...no matter how hard I wish it away! Please make sure your child has snow pants, boots, jacket, hat and mittens starting tomorrow. The easiest way for your child to handle all this gear is by putting anything they are not wearing to school in a large reusable grocery bag. This makes it so much easier for them to get things back and forth without losing it. Label as much as possible.

Extra mittens or waterproof ones are a good idea if possible because we go out twice a day. Neck warmers are easier to use than scarves.

The kids can keep things here if you have extras. Just make sure they know what they are supposed to bring home and when. Some parents only have snow pants come home on weekends or have extra pairs.

Speaking of extra snow pants...just a reminder that your child can keep an extra set of clothes in his/her locker in case they get wet. This way you won't have to get a phone call to bring more. :)

Upcoming Dates -

Tradition shares started today. I sent another calendar home to make sure you knew when your child's day will be.

We have a field trip to The Grand in Ellsworth on Thursday. Bus leaves at 8:45 and returns at 11:45. We will be seeing The Grinch Musical. Students may bring snacks as long as they fit in their pockets.

Winter Concert - Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 6:00pm in the gym.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
