Hi! Happy 2026! We are off to a great start! We spent this week getting used to being back and school with lots of snow activities. We learned about how snow is made and how snowflakes all have a hexagonal shape but are not the same. We learned about why snow is why and how snowflakes change shapes. We made tie-dyed snowflakes. We made snow babies and wrote about them. We made snowmen with our Peer Helpers. We also made snowmen clocks with our Second Grade friends.
We worked with greater than / less than and place value in Math. We use dimes and pennies to help us talk about tens and ones. We played addition Top It. (It's like the old War card game but take two cards and add them together.)
We also talked about the New Year and how we are getting closer to Second Grade each day. We made rockets that tell about things we want to accomplish or continue doing in the New Year. We're aiming for the moon but know we will still hit the stars if we miss! :)

So cool to have the class picture in space! Looks like an amazing week!
