NEWSLETTER 5-13

Hi! It was great to see so many of you today at the play. The kids were so excited to share everything they’ve been working on this past month with you. They did an amazing job...I couldn’t be any prouder of them :)!! /We will begin our last unit of the year, Rivers and Oceans, next week. Where has the time gone?!

READING AND LANGUAGE ARTS

We finished reading CHARLOTTE’S WEB. We found spider webs, cotton candy, in the Guess Box. Our next read aloud will be ANDRE. It is about the famous Maine harbor seal that used to swim from Boston to Maine each spring to live with the Goodwin family. Did any of you hear about him or see him when you were growing up?
We wrote letters to Adam and Haley this week to say good-bye and thank you to them for helping us this year. We also published our rain forest stories.

MATH

We are adding and subtracting two digit numbers using base ten blocks to help us. I will be letting the kids do their homework for math during class for the rest of the year. If they finish, the only homework will be to practice spelling words and of course they should keep reading for Books for Bikes.
