NEWSLETTER 5-6-16

Hi! We have had a very busy week! We turned our room into a rain forest. We even have animals prowling around! We will continue with this unit through next Friday.

Our play, AN EARTH DAY CAROL, is coming right along. We have been on stage twice now. Scenery is up and we are script free. We can’t wait to share it with family and friends next Friday at 8:30 in the cafeteria. We will invite you back to our room for rain forest treats and stories after.

READING AND LANGUAGE ARTS

We continue to share our animal research and add information to our journals. We wrote stories that you will see on Sunday ;). We also wrote rain forest stories to share with you after the play.

MATH

We got rid of the paper clips and are now using rulers. I really feel the kids are ready to use real measurement. They are doing great remembering to use the “invisible zero” when we line up the object we are measuring with our ruler.

ITEMS OF INTEREST

• Swimming was so much fun today! The kids did an awesome job!
• Thank you PTO, parents and students for all the Teacher Appreciation Day gifts and kind words. You don’t know how special you all made me feel.
• Adam's and Haley's last official day with us is today. They have been wonderful to have in the room! We will miss them terribly...thank goodness they are coming to our show next week!!
