Happy Weekend!

GRADES 1-2 NEWS 4-27-18

Hi! It’s great to be back from vacation. The kids seem well rested and ready
for that final haul. We said a hello and goodbye this week. We welcomed a
new friend to our class and say goodbye to Miss Pelletier. She was a great
student teacher. She leaves us to head to Arizona for her new job as a
kindergarten teacher! We wish her well! Thank you to those who were able
to donate to her gift and help with the party! She really appreciated it! We will
be saying goodbye to Mr. Jason on Wednesday.

We are learning about landforms and slow/quick changes to the land in science.
We will be doing this along with some planting the remainder of the year. We will
also be working on our musical, Circus, Circus. We will perform this on Thursday,
June 7th at 1:00 and 6:00pm for family and friends. The entire primary wing is in this.

First Grade will finish their math book next week. Second Grade will finish theirs’
the following week. Once the program ends there will be no more homework. I will
be reviewing and extending their skills the remainder of the year.

We are using our Chromebooks to research things from Maine. Some have already
started typing up information and inserting pictures. We are making a Maine Alphabet
book for our penpals. We will be hanging a copy of it in the hall as well. It’s amazing
what they can do on their laptops!

PICS FROM FRIDAY, April 13th, 2018

Whoever said Friday the 13th is bad luck must not go to school in Veazie! We had a totally, terrific day! We started with musical practice, then played a few games during snack break, had a school wide assembly, read some more of Dragon Masters, learned a new map game and...FOUND ancient TREASURE MAPS!!! We followed the maps and found four different treasures that we put together into ice cream sundaes! What an awesome day with some amazing kids!

Student Council led us in games!
One person was picked from each class to play.

Performing our VCS song.
