Hi! It finally feels like summer! I know the kids are feeling it! We are having fun with Dragon Days! We used stencils to paint dragons on our tie-dyed shirts. They came out great! We have made many different types of dragons. The coolest dragon project of the week is definitely the one Mr. Baker did with us! He had the kids fill out questionnaires about the dragon they wish they had. He took the information and graphically designed their dragon. One came home and the other is hanging in the hall with their writing. We've also had a couple of HOT guess boxes! Everyone was breathing fire after those!
On Monday, Rosemary, one of our sixth grade peer helpers, taught us how to make dragon puppets.
UMaine Touch Tank came yesterday. It was awesome! The kids loved touching the starfish, sea urchins, hermit crabs and more! We also learned all about lobsters!
We started celebrating our Summer Birthdays this week and will continue with a real birthday and some summer ones next week.
Next week, there will be many special end of year activities. Here's what is planned:
* Monday - We will be doing a Lemonade Escape Room
* Tuesday - We will be having a BLUE day - wear blue if you have it!
* Wednesday - Memory Bracelets, Finish Up
* Thursday - School BBQ for lunch! And a special surprise!
* Friday - Field Day - We will change into our dragon shirts for this at school. 11:30 dismissal for summer!
Happy Weekend!
