Hi. We’ve had a fun week! We worked on ways we can be good friends. We also
worked on ways we can be our best selves...we became superheroes! We loved
checking out all the pics from when we were little and hearing stories from long ago. We
did a cute project with our pics (without damaging them). They are hanging in the hall.
Next week we will continue with friends but add in some Johnny Appleseed.
We split the class in half and each half practiced reading a different Superhero
book. We paired up the next day to teach our new book to our partner. Now we have
two new books :). Books started coming home to practice reading at home last Friday.
Please make sure books are returned as soon as possible so we can continue reading
them in class.
We wrote about our school. We wrote poems about ourselves to add to the pictures we made of us as superheroes flying over a cityscape at dusk. We worked on words through Big Books and phonics papers.
We continue to work with making ten quickly. We are also practicing recognizing
dot quantities. This helps us with finding different ways to make a given number. If we
are shown seven dots, some will see four plus three more, where others will see six
plus one more. It leads to many great conversations regarding addition.
THANK YOU in advance for your help with our cooking activities next week!! Thank you also to Colson for donating treats to
our treat box!
Picture Day is Monday...don’t forget to wear your best smile!!
