First Grade News and Pics 4-17-25
Hi! It's hard to believe April Vacation is here! This year is flying by! It was great seeing all of you Wednesday at the play. I'm so proud of first grade! They've grown so much this year! They worked hard putting together the play and everything in the room. They are definitely working and acting like second graders!
We celebrated our success with trophies and the movie, Fern Gully. The kids loved the rainforest movie. There is a second one out, which I haven't seen. Just thought I'd throw it out there for a rainy day idea.
We finished the week with some Easter activities. We made Easter bunnies and baskets. We found eggs that were filled with scrambled sentences that we had to put back together. We also had Flex Friday. Ask your child what s/he chose to do.
We will start our last unit of the year which is rivers and oceans when we return from vacation. We will continue to read Dragon Masters and have a special Dragon week. We will also read Charlotte's Web and take a trip to the UMaine Cow Barns along with lots of other end of the year activities. It'll go fast. I'll do my best to keep you updated as soon as I know things!

Wednesday, May 7 - Spring Concert (6:00 pm)

Wednesday, May 21 - Math NWEA
Friday, May 23 - K-2 Field trip to The Grand to see One Morning in Maine (Bus leaves at 8:45).
Friday, May 23 - Last Flex Friday
Monday, May 26 - Memorial Day - No School
Tuesday, May 27 - Tie Dye T-shirts (Please bring a plain white t-shirt on or before this date.)
Wednesday, May 28 - 1st grade Field trip to UMaine farm (10:00, Bus leaves at 9:40)
Thursday, June 12 - Last Student Day - Field Day - 11:30 Dismissal.
