Hi. We’ve had a great week! We are having fun as we travel through space. We
are currently on Mars. We are keeping all of our space information in our FAMILY OF
THE SUN books. We will continue with Space and Maps through February break.
We started stations in Reading Workshop. We do three twenty-five minute
rotations that consist of Phonics work on the Chrome books, Spelling / Big Books and
Book Boxes. During this time I pull small groups for Guided Reading.
We finished our Snow Baby Stories. They are hanging in the hall. We can’t wait to bring them home to share them with you! We also wrote about Winter activities on a mitten and our favorite thing to do in winter.
We have new writing folders. We are learning to use the word lists and thesaurus in them. It also has an editing list to help us remember the skills we are working on.
We finished our first Math Book! We are working on our Unit Five assessment.
We will start our new book next week. We started Level Up Math. The kids try to beat
the clock and successfully complete 25 problems. If they do, they try the next level the
following day. If not, the fix mistakes or finish the paper for homework and try again the
following day.
