Hello! Another four day week thanks to the crazy weather! Hopefully we'll all make it through tomorrow's storm with power! We had a great week in first grade. We are enjoying learning about space. We've learned about galaxies and the solar system in general terms. We got Milky Ways in the Guess Box. Next week we will start "visiting" each planet. We are keeping everything we learn in our Family of the Sun books.
I'm sure you've had the chance to meet your child's snow baby by now. We had fun stuffing socks to make them, especially since there really hasn't been enough snow to make a real one! We wrote about our snow babies. Our writing is hanging in the hallway for a bit before making its way home.
There will be no school on Monday as we observe MLK day. Friday will be our January Flex Friday. One of the choices is the UMaine Planetarium. Be on the lookout for a permission slip on Tuesday if your child picks this option. Mid Trimester Progress Notes come home Friday as well.
