Hello! We have had lots of fun doing some special football related activities. Our classroom research predicts the Chiefs. We shall see. There are a couple of new sites on the portaportal that we've been using this week. Your kids know how to use them if you just get them to portaportal.com and type in VCS2. They can do the rest. Two of them are football related. The other is a great UFLI site that you can play all kinds of games to practice the sound of the week. It will ask you which week of words. We did Lesson 50 this week.
Not sure how the pictures ended up in the middle of the newsletter but they did.
I'm about halfway through the math assessments for Unit Five. We'll finish those and begin Unit Six next week.
If you would like some books on your child's level for vacation, shoot me an email and I'll put together a bag for you.
We welcome Miss Tkacs on Monday. She will be student teaching with us for seven weeks. She did her 100 hour placement with us in the fall. The kids love her! If you have extra valentines at home, feel free to have your child fill one out for her. I just found out this week that she is coming or she would have been on the list. On that note. Ms. Niles is no longer with us.
Monday is the 100th day of School. Please have your child bring 100 of something in a gallon size baggie so we can compare them. Also, students can dress in what they think they will look like when they are 100 OR in what they think the style will be in 100 years. (comfy clothes, sports themed, fancy...).
Swim/Gym/Gymnastics begins Thursday. Don't forget to pack towels, bathing suits and goggles (optional). Please have your child wear comfy clothes and sneakers for the gym.
Happy Weekend!
