Hi! What a busy week! We traveled the entire solar system to learn about each planet. Next week we will focus on the stars and moon. We will finish our space unit the week after vacation.
We learned about groundhogs this week and had fun trying to say that old rhyme about woodchucks. Very tricky! We were so relieved the groundhog did NOT see its shadow meaning spring is on its way!
We made a Valentine Zoo with our peer helpers. Each student had the challenge of making an animal out of hearts. They are adorable!
The next two weeks and the week after vacation are going to be extremely busy with lots of special days. I sent home a schedule. I also sent home a field trip permission slip for the planetarium. (Note - the planetarium date had to change because of swim/gym.) You will get the Swim/Gym permission slip next week.
Skiing also is going to start up a week earlier now due to an early release day.
The paper I sent home had the ski start date wrong. I am attaching a revised list.
The kids are doing really well on their diagraphs. Th can still be a little tricky. Remind your child to make sure his/her tongue is between their front teeth when pronouncing it. Next week we will focus on the two more, wh and ph.
Yes, we liked them before Taylor Swift got involved...she just made it better! :)
