Hi! We starting learning about oceans this week. We talked about the five main oceans and what is different about oceans vs. rivers/lakes. We learned about coral. Next week we will start researching an ocean animal. We made beautiful ocean murals and even used salt water to paint with!
It was great to see so many of you at the Spring Concert! The kids did a wonderful job!
We worked with the u_e sound as in (oo and long u). It's still a little confusing for some, especially the u_e used in oo. Any help with that at home would be great. We learned about the three sounds of ed and how we add ed to the end of verbs to show past tense. We will continue working with this. Next week our UFLI sound is ce /s/. We will also be working on multisyllabic words and how to break them down so we can spell them. We'll talk about open and closed syllables with this.
I added a few things to our End of Year list so be sure to check it out. We have the Steel Pan Band coming next Thursday. They came last year and were amazing!!
A huge thank you to all our PTO parents for giving our VCS staff such a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week!
