Hi! Can you believe it's December?! It definitely feels like it outside! We had a busy week back. We worked on how light reacts to different types of materials. We learned the words; transparent, translucent and opaque. We used these materials to create snow globes. Our peer helpers were great with helping us finish them. We will begin our Tradition Shares on Monday. Those are always fun because the kids LOVE sharing about themselves. :) We will also travel the globe a little to see how different countries have traditions, too!
Our Holiday Concert was a huge success. The kids did a great job performing their four songs. It was great to see so many of you there! If you didn't get a chance to check out the beautiful lights outside of our school after the concert, try to check them out. It's fun to see the lights dance to the music!
Miss Ortiz, our Husson 30 hour intern, taught us a Spanish lesson this week. We learned to say, Hello, how are you? I'm fine. My name is. We also had fun playing Simon Says in Spanish! Expect to see your child learning some more Spanish after December break as Miss Ortiz will be student teaching with us for sixteen weeks! Miss Ortiz's first language is Spanish so we are going to learn lots! It's going to awesome!
We saw The Frogtown Puppeteers perform The Grinch today. It was hilarious and so much fun! We laughed for about 45 minutes straight! It was interesting to learn how the puppeteers made their scenery and their puppets after the show!
As the cold weather is unfortunately here, please remember that we go outside twice a day. Please make sure your child has adequate outside clothing. (Winter coat, snow pants, hat, mittens/gloves, neck warmer and boots) Also, please label your child's gear. We have many with matching items. If your child is bringing everything back and forth each day, a reusable grocery bag works well for this. There is not enough room in backpacks. Thank you for your help with this. :)
