We started Peer Helpers today! Sixth graders will come to our room every Wednesday for forty minutes. We will do lots of projects and learning with them. Today we played games that helped us learn things about each other. Peer Helpers is a long standing Veazie tradition. Ask your child about his/her new sixth grade friend. Below are just a few pics from today.

WHAT A GREAT FIRST DAY!!
Today was an awesome first day!! We started the day with a Pre-K through 8th grade assembly...which included dancing :)! We shared our super posters and couldn't believe how much we have in common with each other! While listening to a story a note fell out of the book. It lead us all over the school on a scavenger hunt. It ended back in our room. To our surprise we found Jitter Juice (fruit punch and ice cream) and super hero taffy. We're thinking Mr. Samuel Veazie could have been involved ;)! We have a great class and I'm looking forward to our year together!

A "NOT SO SUMMER" SUMMER DAY
Hi! I spent this dreary summer day having lots of fun getting ready for my sweet little first graders! I made lots of new sight words games and super hero locker tags. I love looking for and making new things for the classroom! Tomorrow Colin, my son, and I are heading to the new Emera Astronomy Center at the University of Maine. If you haven't been there, it is definitely worth checking out! They are showing lots of different titles this summer. You can get a schedule on their website: http://astro.umaine.edu/visit/. We will study space in March. Enjoy your summer adventures!
