Hi! We started using the CHROME BOOKS this week…the kids are just a little excited ;)! We’ve learned the basics of taking care of them. I bookmarked four sites for them…to make their lives easier: IXL, PortaPortal (our guest password is vcs2), our blog, the school website and Kiddle (a kid safe search engine). We will be using these all year for research, writing, skill practice, keyboarding, assessment and more. Your child’s chrome book will follow them through their elementary years here.
We learned about the artist, Edvard Munch. We re-created his painting, The Scream, and wrote about some things that scared us. We had lots of people working with a good mindset. It was difficult using rulers to make part of the drawing. I saw lots of attempts until they got it how they wanted it…great work attitudes!
REMINDERS
No School - Friday, Oct. 7th and Monday, Oct. 10th.
The Ugly Pumpkin will be presented to family and friends on
Friday, October 28th at 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.
We will invite everyone back to our room after for stories.
SPECIAL PROJECTS
We have some special projects coming up and could use some help with materials. If anyone has any big cardboard (like tv or refrigerator size), we need some for our play. I’m also looking to borrow a mini bundt cake pan.
