Dear Parents,
Hi! We added a few more things to our schedule this week. We did different version of Word Work: big books, Make-a-Word and site word games. The kids really loved the big book, LAZY MARY. Ask them about it if you haven’t heard yet. We finished up reading and math testing. Next week we will begin switching for Math and Writing/Spelling. Mrs. Logan will be teaching the Writing/Spelling to both grades. I will be covering the Math. We started Library today with Mrs. Shannon. We will also have Mrs. Shannon for Keyboarding and Tech. on Tuesdays starting next week.
The baby pictures were a huge hit! Thank you to those who sent them in. We had fun guessing who was who. We also loved hearing how people got their names. They were so cute and proud as they spoke about their families! The pictures are hanging in the hall next to their first week pics. I will send them home the end of next week. Feel free to still send on in if you haven’t. I told the kids they can share whenever they bring it in.
We are learning to use our Chrome books. I have introduced three different programs so far that can be found on the Portaportal site. They are: IXL, Prodigy and Epic. I am attaching all of your child’s passwords so that you can use them at home if you like. It is NOT homework. I just like you to be aware of what your child is learning at school.
We are already almost through our second chapter book of our read aloud series, PIXIE TRICKS. The kids love it! There are eight books in the series. We are also reading Mo Willems books. We love his humor!!
We wrote poems that shared how certain adjectives relate to us. They go with a special superhero project. We are trying hard to find the superhero within!
