Hello! We had a GREAT last week of September! We transitioned into an apple theme which will run through next week. We wove paper baskets to put paper apples in. We read apple poems and shared an apple big book. We worked on making sure what we read makes sense and looks right. Math homework started this week. Students get two gems when they bring it back in completed. We had a great trip to Conant's Apple Orchard. Students took a wagon ride, picked apples and learned how to make apple cider. We went back to school and had apple donuts and cider for an afternoon snack. School picture day went great, too.
Our new sound is short o. Sight words to study are: he, be, me, from. Activities to practice will come home on Monday.
Next week is a short week. Students get dismissed on Thursday at 11:30. They will be bringing home a bag lunch if they get hot lunch. We will not be eating lunch at school, just snack. Friday is a teacher inservice day. No school the following Monday.
