Hi! I just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow is an early release day. First Graders will be dismissed at 11:25. We will still have snack. However, lunch will be eaten at home. Bag lunches are available for those wanting one.
I am going to encourage your kids to bring everything home from their lockers so they can start fresh in the New Year. This way extra clothes can be washed and checked to make sure they still fit. :)
If you are looking for something to give your child that they can use at school, markers would be a perfect gift. We have gone through all of the ones we had for special projects. The kids can keep their own personal set of markers in his/her desk. You can ask them how they are doing on other supplies. I think it's just markers.
There will be no homework over vacation. Please just keep your child reading. Last call if you want books on your child's level sent home tomorrow. It's fine to use books you already have at home. I just like to offer.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and vacation. I also hope all of you without power get it soon!!! (That would include me!) I've enjoyed watching the magic of the season in your child's eyes this month. I miss this age with my own kids. They grow too fast. Enjoy every minute!!
Pictures
We did two fun STEM activities today.
The kids had to design and build something to help Santa safely land on the target.
They also had to design and build a shelf for the elf to sit on.
It was great seeing their creativity and perseverance!
We also did more tradition shares.
We had fun opening our "stockings" and reading all of the kind words our classmates wrote to us!
Merry Christmas
and
Happy Vacation!
