First Grade Newsletter and Pics 3-8-24

Hi! We have had a fun week. It started with seeing the Middle School's Circus. It was great! The kids got to try out some of their own circus skills during P.E. class after. We started learning about the environment and how to keep it clean. We are doing a play called, An Earth Day Carol. We will perform it for family and friends on Wednesday, April 10th at 8:30 in the cafeteria. We will start learning about the rain forest next week.

We have been reading Robert Munsch books. We love them! Most of his books are hilarious. They are great for this time of year because the kids can read many of them on their own.

Tuesday, March 12th, we will be engineering leprechaun traps. Please send in anything you have at home you would like to donate for this activity. Each child should have some type of box to build from. (cereal boxes, tissue boxes, shoe boxes...any of those would work.) We will share our traps with the school on Wednesday and then set them up to hopefully catch something that night. (We are going to let the leprechauns know we are celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Thursday, March 14th because the 17th is on a Sunday this year.

Thursday, March 14th is an early release day. 11:25 dismissal. No lunch or swim this day. We will have our last swim/gym the next week. Skiing has ended.

Friday, March 15th is a teacher inservice day. No school for students.

Next week will be a digraph review in UFLI.

Happy Weekend!
