PICS FROM WEEK ENDING 12-14-18

Love these sweet, toothless smiles!

We "traveled" to France and learned a new game.

Decorating Yule Logs to look like the Flag of France.

Magna-Tiles and Keva blocks are the absolute best!
It amazes me to see all the creativity the kids put into them!

There are ornaments hanging from three different levels...way cool!

We are learning Place Value in math.
We used Base Ten Blocks to play a new game.
You can also play it at home with dimes and pennies.
Roll a dice. Take that many pennies.
Exchange for a dime when you get ten.
First one to $1.00 wins.
You can make it even harder by starting with $1,00
and work backwards to 0.

Have you heard about our new friend?
Meet Nick!
He's visiting from the North Pole.
When we write him letters, he writes back to us.
We are having fun finding his new hiding place each day.

We are writing letters to each of our classmates.
We will open the letters on Thursday.

We decorated stockings and turned them into magnets.

We traveled to England.
We made crackers (I was too busy helping to take pics...sorry).
We sang carols.
We wrote a book called THE FIVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS RIDDLE BOOK.
We're having fun listening to the riddles as people finish.

Check out this bridge!

Ready for the top of a Christmas tree!

Working hard and earning awards as we practice math.

We took our Spelling Test in teams this week!
Each team had to agree on the spelling and write out the word.
Dictation was even harder...teams had to write out sentences.
I'm happy to say all students got 100% on everything!
Working together as a team = SUCCESS!

We went to Germany today.
We made Christmas trees, read books and made gingerbread cookies.

Celebrating a birthday!

First Grade Power Unite!

HAPPY WEEKEND!
