First Grade News 3-12-21

Hello! We are officially done our space unit. It's kind of sad but we are ready to do some engineering and begin our rain forest unit. We learned about the Aurora Borealis, Northern Lights, and had fun painting our own. We also wrote letters from space and made space mobiles.

We watched some engineering and inventing short clips to get ready for our leprechaun traps. Please make sure your child brings anything they have been collecting to help them with this project to school on Monday. The teachers have been collecting things as well so we have stuff to share.

We have a student teacher that will be with us for the next seven weeks. She is coming to us from UMaine. She did her first placement in Kindergarten in Brewer. UMaine student teachers get Covid tested each week and follow all of our safety protocols. We welcome Miss Russell.

A huge thank you to Eli, Teo and Liam for donating outside play toys to our classroom. We already had fun using them today! Reminder to make sure your child has an extra set of dry clothes at school.

There is no school on Friday, March 19th. Teachers have a teacher inservice day.

Wednesday, March 31st is an early release day.

Happy Weekend!
