FIRST GRADE NEWSLETTER 4-15-22

Hi! What a super, amazing week! We did the play, An Earth Day Carol, for the school and then for our families. We had everyone into our room to see our rainforest crafts, research, stories and snacks. We hunted for eggs on the playground to find numbers that we had to use to make tens back in the room. We went to the Old Town YMCA for Wellness Day. We participated in Zumba, Yoga, Meditation and Gymnastics. We made bunnies that held grass baskets. We went to the Maine Discovery Museum. We had a double, creature feature. We saw a bearded dragon and a skink. We had lunch at the museum and got to explore all three floors.

Phew...as you can see we are now officially ready for vacation! School will go so fast when we return. We will be learning about rivers and oceans. If you have time over vacation, take a walk down on the Veazie Riverwalk or a drive to the ocean. Please make sure your child continues to read each day. Also, if you they are using our portaportal and you need passwords, just shoot me an email.

I'd like to thank you all for your support this week getting us to the field trips and helping with activity supplies. It was also so great to see that every child had someone here to watch them in the play. This is why this class is so amazing...they have such supportive families!

I'd also like to tell you how wonderful your kids have been in class and out of the building. They have grown up so much this year. It's a pleasure taking them places because they are so well behaved and responsible. Kudos to your parents for raising great kids!

Have a great vacation! See you in nine days!!
