First Grade News and Pics Week Ending 5-6-22

What a great week!
We started a new Flex Friday activity. Be sure to ask your child what s/he picked.
I have some pictures below of the first graders that went to read to the cats at
The Bangor Humane Society and the ones that did robotics. We did read lots
of Mother's Day books and did a few writing projects. We celebrated
MAY THE FOURTH be with you! Every subject had something to do
with Star Wars. We worked with recognizing and counting change. 
Any help with this at home would be great. I've taught them to sort
the coins and then count the largest values first. Also, reminding them
that dimes and pennies are like base ten blocks. That helps!
