First Grade Newsletter and Pics 3/24/24

Hi! I'm not really sure where this week went! It's suddenly Sunday and I haven't even posted! I blame it on the insane weather! I don't know about you but I'm DONE with snow gear! Hopefully, it all melts soon!

This week we took a dive into the rain forest and learned about its different layers. We also learned about some important things it gives us: medicine, animals, plants, clean air and best of all chocolate ;)! Our Earth Day Carol play is going great! The kids are doing well learning their lines and songs. We can't wait to perform it for you on Wednesday, April 10th at 8:30 in the cafeteria. Family and friends are invited!

Ms. Tkacs taught us about what we need to plant successfully. We planted grass heads and are keeping track of their growth in a journal.

We wrote autobiographies that relate to our play. We told about our past, present and future. There were lots of funny past stories!

We will finish up Unit Six in math and assess it mid week. Our next unit will review time, work with fact families and attributes and learn how to use function machines.

Our last swim/gym was cancelled due to the snow day. I haven't heard yet if we will make it up this Thursday or not. I will keep you posted!

There are not many pictures this week, again, I blame it on the weather!

Happy Weekend!
