First Grade News and Pics 11/21/25

Hi! We finished up our unit on Sound and Light this week. We worked with checking to see if things were opaque, translucent or transparent. We worked in pairs to try to communicate by only using lights and colors. We also used the Magna-Tiles on the windows to see how the light passes through.

We had fun dressing up for all the different Spirit Days. Thanks for all of your help with it!

We went to two different Readers' Theatre. Fourth Grade put on a show about Immigrants and Second Grade put on a show called Who Stole the Turkey. Both were great!

We read a nonfiction book on turkeys. We highlighted the parts we thought were interesting and would like to remember. We then used the information to write a short research paper. They did a great job with their first attempt at it!

Miss Fick, our Husson student, read us a story and did a writing activity with us. We wrote about what we would do if we were a turkey during Thanksgiving time.

Peer Helpers worked with us on making thankful turkeys. We also wrote in our Thankful Journals.

We took a walk through the Hathaway Holiday Lights out front of the school. We were shocked at how many lights were out there. We talked about how they work.
