Hi! We are working on saving our planet! We are talking about the environment and envisioning the future world we would like to have. We will continue with this through vacation week and then ease into learning about the rain forest.
READING AND LANGUAGE ARTS
We’ve had some intense discussions about some of the environmental books we read this week. The kids used this information to write papers to teach others. We also worked in cooperative groups to create a recycled world. We then wrote about our world and about how to work in a group.
We are doing a play! It’s called AN EARTH DAY CAROL. We will put it on for family and friends. It will be sometime in May. I will give you an exact date next week.
We are doing a primary wing musical called GO FISH. Practice will begin the end of April. Students chose this week if they want to speak, dance or do both in it. Everyone will be singing in it. This is a great mixed grade level activity we do each year! We will perform it on Friday, June 3rd at 1:30 in the gym.
MATH
We are learning Geometry and loving it!! The class is surprising me on how quickly they are understanding fractions.
