Hi! By now I’m sure you have all heard the news, I am going to second grade with your children :)! I couldn’t be any happier! I have looped (had students more than one year) before and it’s a great experience for everyone involved. We will gain instruction time because we will not need to spend as much time on routines and figuring each other out. I have already started developing units and preparing for second grade. It’s an exciting time!
GO FISH is where it’s at in VCS’s Primary Wing. We can’t wait to perform it for you on Tuesday at 1:00 in the gym. Family and friends are invited. The show should last about a half hour. Children should wear shorts and sneakers to school that day. Students will be getting their musical t-shirt that day. We will change into them before the show.
DATES TO REMEMBER
- Tuesday, June 14th at 1:00 pm in gym - GO FISH (Primary Musical)
- Thursday, June 16th - If you would like to pop in and check out your child using the Lego Robotics, WeDO2, stop in between 9:00 - 10:00! This will be really informal but will let you see what all the excitement is about :)!
- Thursday, June 16th - Step Up Day (2:00)
- Friday, June 17th - Field Day, Barbecue, Last Day - 12:30 Dismissal
PROGRESS NOTES
There will be no more progress notes this year. I will contact you personally if I need to. The kids are doing a great job at keeping focused the best they can during a very exciting time of year :)!
SUMMER WORK
Don’t forget to sign your child up for the VCS Summer Virtual School. The link is:
Virtual Summer School. Your child can also continue to use his/her IXL site to practice math and language skills. The link is: IXL. It is important to keep the reading going each day. A twenty minute before bed routine is a great one to get into.
