FIRST GRADE NEWSLETTER 2-5-21

Hi! We've had another busy week in grade one! We even had our first snow day! If you haven't had a chance to fill out the survey on how you think it went, please do. I know my first link didn't work so I will try sending another. Next week will be a fun week! We will celebrate the 100th day of school on Wednesday. Please have your child dress in what s/he thinks the style will be in 100 years! On Friday we will celebrate Valentine's Day. Please have valentines here by Wednesday, February 10th so we can quarantine them. Also, if you are donating something for our party, please send it in by this day. This way I can see if I need to run out and get anything.

We learned something new in Math! We are now using name collection boxes. These boxes are tagged with a number. It's our job to think of as many unique and different ways to make this number. We have had fun with this new challenge!

I added a couple of new sites in portaportal under STEM. The kids now can use BeeBot and Kodable.

We will finish up our adventure in the Galapagos Islands looking for penguins next week. However, we will not finish our space unit before vacation. We will continue with it for a couple more weeks. Hopefully, you can get out and enjoy the night sky sometime during vacation! Cool app: Skyview!

Happy Weekend!
