Hi! We started the week by sharing our leprechaun traps with grades PreK-6 and a few parents. The kids did a great job telling about how they made their trap and how their trap works. Unfortunately, those tricky leprechauns were too clever for us! They left a rubber leprechaun in their place inside each of our traps! We'll have to try again next year!
In honor of St. Patrick's Day we did Lucky Charm math! We practiced sorting, graphing, comparing, adding and subtracting with our Lucky Charms. It was delicious.
We are working with fact families in Math. The students are given three numbers and need to make four number sentences (equations) with them. 3,4,7 would make 3+4=7, 4+3=7, 7-3=4, 7-4=3. We are also working with borrowing and carrying with base ten blocks.
Be on the look out for swim permission slips on Monday or Tuesday. There are papers that will need to be filled out for the Old Town YMCA. Mrs. Dorrity is working on it. Please make sure to check if your child swim suit fits from last summer. They will need a swim suit, towel and goggles (optional). Students should also dress in comfy clothes for the gymnastics and gym portion of each trip. Please pack all swim stuff in a separate bag so their backpack won't get all wet. :)
We did some pretty cool builds during Flex and Afternoon Break today!
