Hello! It's been Shark Week in First Grade! Everyone picked a different shark to research and write a Haiku poem about. Ask your child which one they chose. We also made ocean portholes. We will continue with oceans next week and add in some aviation to get ready for our trip to the airport!
It was great seeing so many of you at the concert this week! The kids did great!
Our last Flex Friday of the year was today. Ask your child which activity they participated in.
We wrote Acrostic Poems with our names. Those are the ones you might have seen on display concert night. I sent some extras home this week to use as bookmarks.
We didn't take our UFLI assessment today. It was too busy with Flex. We will focus on "ed" endings again next week. We could use the extra practice so it worked out perfectly!
We have been working with fractions in math. We like to say how many parts we are talking about out of how many equal parts. For example: 1/2 = one out of two equal parts.
