GRADES 1-2 NEWS 11-9-17

Hi! It was a short and busy week! We finished up our space unit with a trip to the planetarium. We also made constellations and space stations. Thank you to everyone who sent in items to help with these fun activities! Thank you also to the parents that were able to join us and chaperone our field trip! Our next unit will be Native American Legends.

A huge thank you to Melissa Stone for coming in and teaching us how to plant garlic. We had so much fun working out back in one of the school’s garden beds. The kids were also excited to go inside the greenhouse to try out some mint. It was great to relate it to our space unit by checking out the solar powered roof. We can’t wait to go out again this spring!

Today we participated in our special Veterans Day assembly. We worked with our Primary Buddies to make a huge wall mural that says, “Hats off to our Veterans.” We also sang two songs at it. The kids loved being able to eat lunch with our special guests.

We started a new chapter book series for our read aloud time. It’s called Nikki Powergloves. We are on book one of six.
