GRADES 1-2 NEWS 3-23-18

Hi! We got mail! We have heard from Utah, Arizona, Florida and Massachusetts.
The kids are having fun sharing their mail and showing where they traveled to on
the classroom map. They are practicing their directionality as they share which way
they traveled to and from. We can’t wait to be getting more!

NIKKI POWERGLOVES DAY

Today was a huge success! The kids had so much fun joining the Power Team.
We made power chests and Weebles. Tell your child that you heard Weebles
should always eat after midnight and see what they say! Thank you to everyone
who helped out with special power snacks! It was a great way to end an amazing
book series! Our next series is DRAGON MASTERS.

MATH

There is lots of measuring going on in both grades! We are talking about inches
and centimeters. We have even measured in yards and meters. Tape measures
are a huge highlight of Second Grade Math. First Graders will be using them soon.
We learned two new multiplication games. All you need is two dice to play. I have
attached the games in case you want to practice your 1-6 times tables.

ITEMS OF INTEREST

We will be going to the Old Town Y twice next week. Once on Tuesday for our
regular swim and gymnastics time. We will go again with the entire school on
Friday. Students were able to pick from five different choices. Some have
decided to do other things than swim since we go on Tuesdays. Check with your
child to see if s/he needs a suit that day.

HAPPY WEEKEND!
