First Grade News 10-15-21

Hello! Why is it that short weeks are always our busiest?! We started our Sound and Light unit in Science. We talked about vibrations, sound waves and echolocation. We even did a couple of experiments! We will keep this theme throughout the month.

Reading and Language Arts

We rewrote two books this week. One, The Monster Mash, we made into a wall story. The second one, There's a Monster in Grade One, we made individual copies of. We love reading our own work! We wrote in our journal. We are working hard to be brave and sound out our own words.

Math

We finished our second unit in Math. We are really trying to remember to say the big number and count up the second number when adding. Our next unit will continue with this and do a lot of skip counting. While riding in the car have your child count by 2, 5, 10 as high as they can go forwards and backwards.
