FIRST GRADE NEWS 10-20-23

What a super fun week! We were so busy! We made tissue paper leaves and wrote Fall Haiku to go with them. We read pumpkin books to get ready for Sarah Whitty's visit with her enormous pumpkin. She is going to give us some seeds from it this winter once they are all dried out. We started play practice on the stage with microphones!! Yes...six and seven year olds with a microphone ;). Firefighter Pete came in and talked about fire safety. We finished reading the Pixie Tricks series and had an awesome time celebrating it today! We made fairy houses, ate Beastie Bites (cereal), ate pixie dust (Kool-Aid popping candy), made a graph of our favorite book, got Sprite's magic bags in Guess Box and became official royal Pixie Trickers! A HUGE thank you to Echo and her mom for making us the cutest and yummiest fairy cupcakes! We also got gourds from a Veazie Resident, Deanna Tomilson! We had fun decorating them!

Reminder, Monday we will be going to the fire station. Bus leaves at 8:20 and returns at 9:40. Chaperones can ride the bus with us or meet us there. Either is fine, just let your child know beforehand so s/he knows what to expect.

The Halloween Hullabaloo and Trunk or Treat will be Friday, Oct. 27th from 5:00 - 6:30.

Don't forget about the play. Tuesday, October 31st at 8:30 in the cafeteria. Family and friends are invited.

Happy Weekend!
