SECOND GRADE NEWS 5-12-17
Hi! This has been a busy week! We finished our last unit in math. Students started taking the end of year math assessment. There will be no more math homework this year unless classwork doesn’t get finished.
The musical is coming along great! We are looking for large cardboard to use for scenery. We are also looking to borrow tall, crazy, colorful socks for our Oompa-Loompas and some hand held bubble machines.
We created a picture of our version of paradise and then wrote about it. The results were very creative!
We will be taking four NWEA tests beginning Monday. The kids voted this week on the order of the tests. Here it is: Math, Science, Reading and Language Arts. I plan on doing one a day, first thing in the morning.
DATES TO REMEMBER
- A.S.A.P. - Willy Wonka T-shirts have been ordered. They are $8.
- A.S.A.P. - Field trip notices need to be signed.
- May 15th - May 19th we will be NWEA testing.
- Friday, May 19th - We will be planting a tree for Arbor Day.
- Friday, May 26th - Firefighter Pete visits.
- Monday, May 29th - No school. Memorial Day.
- Wednesday, May 31st - Maine Discovery Museum (9:40 - 2:20)
- Wednesday, June 7th - Spring Concert at 6:30 pm
- Friday, June 9th - WIlly Wonka Jr. - 6:00 pm
- Tuesday, June 13th - Primary Wing Field Trip to Specialty Sweets.
- Wednesday, June 14th - Step Up Day
- Thursday, June 15th - Field Day, Picnic, Last day of school.
