SECOND GRADE NEWS 5-5-17
Hi! I can’t believe it’s May! This year is coming to an end way too fast! We used our Willy Wonka theme to do some writing activities. We invented our own gum and then wrote about what three course meal we could taste while chewing. We also started writing different styles of poetry. We are going to make a Candy Anthology with all the poems.
We said good-bye to Miss Noel on Monday. We had a surprise party for her. It's crazy how fast the seven weeks went!
We had fun celebrating May the 4th by doing lots of Star Wars related activities. We read Star War jokes in reading. We did a Star Wars game in math along with some skill practice. We put Star Wars characters in alphabetical order, did mazes, fixed sentences and had some fun coloring pages.
We will finish up our last unit in math next week. We are currently working with fractions. This week we spent time on dividing up shapes to make sure everyone got an equal piece. We also practiced borrowing while subtracting and carrying when adding.
A huge thank you to PTO members, parents and students for making this Teacher Appreciation Week so special. I really appreciate everything you did!

- Tuesday, June 13th - Primary Wing Field Trip to Specialty Sweets.
- Wednesday, June 14th - Step Up Day
- Thursday, June 15th - Field Day, Picnic, Last day of school.
