Hi! What a great week we’ve had! We had Swim/Gym on Wednesday, Dragon Day on
Thursday and made leprechaun traps today. Hopefully you heard all about it! We learned about
symbols and then learned some of the ones that represent America. We also got some more
mail from our Flat Stanley project. Next week, we will finish up our American Symbols unit and
our engineering unit. The kids are very anxious to get things wrapped up so we can begin our
Rainforest / Environment Unit.
I’m sure you have all been watching the news. I’m in great hopes that school doesn’t get
closed. In case it does I have the emails you gave me at the beginning of the year. If yours
changed, you can email me at lkimball@veaziecs.org. This way I will have your new one. I will
email and our classroom blog to stay connected. If your child has internet access at home, they
will be able to use everything we do on the computer at home. I’ve attached another copy of
his/her passwords in case the one from the beginning of the year got misplaced. If they give us
advance notice, I will also send books, games, journals and math practice home with each
student. Again, I’m hoping it doesn’t come to this. However, I just want you to know there is a
plan.
The students are very familiar with our class Portaportal site. If you can get them to it,
they can do the rest. The site is: www.portaportal.com. The guest password is VCS2. The sites
that have passwords are: www.ixl.com , www.prodigygame.com and www.getepic.com. I’ve
attached passwords to these sites. The other sites on this page do not need passwords.

● No Progress Notes this week. Everyone has been really great especially with all
the exciting days we had.

● Level Up Math is now once or twice a week. This will give the kids that have
reached the multiplication level time to practice.

● Reminder - Monday starts our Winter Carnival Week. See attached paper for
Dress up Days. Monday is also the day Primary kids that previously signed up
may stay after school for games until 3:45.

● A huge thank you to the PTO for paying for some of our Dragon Day activities!

● March Book Orders are due Thursday, March 19th.

● We are cancelling our remaining swim/gym lessons due to health risks.
